One of the reasons why it’s so difficult to overcome addiction is because it’s a cycle that creates dependency. Your body has learned to function only with drugs or alcohol so when you try to stop you experience withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms can be severe and push you back toward drugs and alcohol for relief. Detox care can be the difference that breaks that cycle.
Detox is often the first stage of addiction treatment. It’s a specialized program that’s focused on keeping you safe and as comfortable as possible while your body eliminates the drugs and alcohol from your system and adapts to functioning without them. Detox care usually lasts around a week but it could be longer or shorter depending on your addiction and other factors.
Detox care can vary a lot from one treatment center to the next. There are different levels of care designed to meet a range of needs. Some centers offer social detox in which you have a safe place to detox without the temptation of relapse. Other centers like our Galloway rehab in Galloway, New Jersey offer medical detox where medical professionals monitor and care for your health around the clock.
Finding the right level of detox can be difficult. According to this state profile from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) there are 374 addiction centers in New Jersey but fewer than 8% of them offer inpatient detox. Boca Recovery Center is proud to be among that 8%.
Finding the right fit for your detox center will help you get the treatment you need and create a strong foundation for your recovery. We can tailor your treatment to meet your needs and will always meet you right where you’re at in your recovery journey. Here’s a look at the services we provide at our Galloway, New Jersey medical detox center.
Specialized Medical Care
The medical professionals at our detox center help people through withdrawal every day. This is their specialty and they help people detox from the same substances you are addicted to on a daily basis. That means they have advanced knowledge in detox treatment and how to help you through your detox in a smooth way that benefits your long-term recovery.
24 Hour Support
Your body’s clock doesn’t tell the withdrawal and detox process to quit at 5:00 p.m. and we don’t clock out then either. At our detox center you’ll have medical care available on a 24/7 basis to ease your symptoms as much as possible and keep you safe. You can rest assured you’ll be in good hands at all times.
Medications for Detox
In some cases like opioid detox and alcohol detox there are special, FDA-approved medications that can improve your overall comfort. These medications reduce your withdrawal symptoms and your cravings for opiates or alcohol to help you through the detox period. We can also use other medications to help manage other, related symptoms like pain or nausea that may occur.
Full Continuum of Care After Detox
Detox is a critical step of addiction recovery but it’s only the first step. Our Galloway rehab has a full continuum of care including inpatient rehab and outpatient treatment programs. After your detox we’ll work with you to determine the best type of program for you and help you smoothly transition into your treatment.
Dual Diagnosis Care During Detox
Mental health and addiction are closely connected. If you have co-occurring mental health conditions with your substance use disorder then treating them together will set you up for success. We have specialized psychiatric care so during your detox we can also help you stabilize and manage any mental health disorders like anxiety and depression.

Do you accept private insurance? What will I pay out of pocket?
Yes. Boca Recovery Center works with most private insurance providers, and we have programs in place to make addiction treatment as accessible and affordable as possible. Out-of-pocket costs will differ based on the kind of plan you have, your specific provider, and the level of care you need.
The best way to determine what you owe is to call our admissions line directly. We’ll go through your insurance policy with you, explain your coverage, and verify all of your benefits so there are no surprises. We offer flexible payment plans and self-pay options, and also accept payments through Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Will my treatment plan be individualized?
All of our treatment plans are customized around your specific needs and unique recovery journey. Your care team will work with you from the beginning to understand your health history, personal preferences, and goals so we can make sure our services work for you. Our plans are designed to align with your clinical, medical, and emotional needs, and will change with you as you progress in your treatment.
Personal reflection is a key component of all our programs. We offer individual therapy sessions with licensed therapists to help you dive into the specific challenges you’re facing that may be contributing to your substance use. The rest of your treatment plan, which may include group therapy, case management, and psychiatric services, will also center on individualized care.
You can find out more about our personalized approach to addiction treatment here: https://bocarecoverycenter.com/about/
How long will I be in rehab? How will you determine my length of stay?
In general, more intensive, residential treatments have shorter timelines, while flexible, outpatient options last longer. Your length of stay will depend on inputs from your care team, as well as your personal situation.
Our medical detox program lasts around 10 days. During that time, we’ll work to medically stabilize you and help you through the most challenging part of recovery. When you step down into residential care, you’ll still be under close medical and clinical supervision. This phase of treatment usually lasts 20 to 30 days.
If you transition to an outpatient program, such as our partial hospitalization (PHP) or intensive outpatient (IOP) plan, you can stay up to a month or longer. These programs are focused on helping you integrate into a life of recovery, so they’re much more flexible. If you need help completing documentation for FMLA or Short-Term Disability, we can help with that step.
Learn more about our treatment lengths and timelines on this page: https://bocarecoverycenter.com/treatment/how-long-should-you-stay-in-rehab/
How soon can I start? Do you have beds available now?
Our bed availability changes by the day. To learn about our current openings, we recommend calling our admissions team. Our intake specialists can tell you more about our different locations, verify your insurance, and discuss the level of care that would be most appropriate for your needs.
Same-day admissions may be available. We’ll work with you to ensure you receive access to the treatment you need as soon as possible.
