Opiate addiction affects individuals and families across the United States. It has become a national health crisis that demands urgent and compassionate care. These substances include prescription painkillers like oxycodone and illicit drugs such as heroin that can quickly lead to physical dependence, intense cravings and life disrupting consequences. At our Massachusetts alcohol and drug rehab we provide several levels of inpatientand outpatient luxury treatment that address your addiction needs.
Understanding Opiate Addiction and Treatment in Massachusetts
In Massachusetts from 2022 to early 2024 there was a range of 147 to 230 deaths per month from opioid drugs. The drug overdose deaths per 100,000 people in Massachusetts rose from 12.7 to 36.8 from 2011 to 2021. The death rate in 2021 was higher than the overall rate in the U.S. of 32.4 per 100,000.
These statistics highlight the need for both prevention and high quality treatment of opioid prescription and illegal drugs. Treatment for opiate use disorder (OUD) is essential to reduce overdose risk, restore health and support long term recovery. The most effective programs combine medical interventions with mental health support to address both the biological and psychological roots of addiction.
