One of the reasons why it's so difficult to overcome addiction is because it's a cycle that creates dependency. Your body has learned to function only with drugs or alcohol so when you try to stop you experience withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms can be severe and push you back toward drugs and alcohol for relief. Detox care can be the difference that breaks that cycle.
Detox and Addiction Treatment in New Jersey
Detox is often the first stage of addiction treatment. It's a specialized program that's focused on keeping you safe and as comfortable as possible while your body eliminates the drugs and alcohol from your system and adapts to functioning without them. Detox care usually lasts around a week but it could be longer or shorter depending on your addiction and other factors.
