Paying for Rehab

Our goal at Boca Recovery Center is to let you focus on getting well while we take care of the logistics. Our counselors will ensure you understand your financial options and obligations to make alcohol or drug rehab affordable and accessible. A Case Manager will be assigned to you so that you can navigate the paperwork and legalities of addiction with ease.

What is the cost of treatment?

Like all medical treatments, addiction rehab costs money. For many people, the cost of rehab is prohibitive and treatment seems unaffordable. However, the team at Boca Recovery Center will work with you to make a life of sobriety a reality. We network with most major insurance carriers. Many insurance plans cover alcohol and drug treatment. The Affordable Care Act has made addiction treatment accessible to more Americans. Plans vary in terms of the type of coverage and duration of treatment covered. Our staff will help you estimate the cost of addiction treatment and plan payment for your rehab.

There are three financial responsibilities that patients should be aware of for both in-network and out-of-network insurance. These are:

  • Co-pay: A fixed amount that you must pay for a service covered under your health insurance plan.
  • Deductible: The initial amount you will pay before your insurance provider pays anything.
  • Co-insurance: A percentage of costs you will have to pay after the deductible is met.

Advisors in our Admissions Department will verify your insurance coverage and provide you with an estimate of out-of-pocket expenses based on the co-pay, deductible, and co-insurance included in your plan. Out-of-network insurance may invite additional financial responsibilities. These will be communicated to you before you start addiction treatment. A range of convenient payment options is available to help drug and alcohol rehab fit into your budget.

Boca Recovery Center provides each client with an estimate of treatment cost before starting rehab at our facilities.

If you cannot afford the deductible or cannot pay for drug rehab out-of-pocket, our Treatment Advisors will get you in touch with a third-party payment plan provider that works in conjunction with our Admissions Department. They will help work out a payment plan that can make addiction rehab a reality for you. Some of the benefits of a third-party payment plan provider are:

  • An interest-free payment plan.
  • Convenient payments through an online portal.
  • The ability to set up easy automatic payments.

Our financial advisors will guide you on the ins and outs of your insurance policy, including the specifics of your co-pay, deductible, and co-insurance. The goal is to make sure you understand what your insurance covers and what you will need to pay from your pocket. You will gain a better understanding of insurance jargon and how the benefits of your health insurance policy can be maximized to make drug and alcohol rehab affordable.

At Boca Recovery Center, we understand that everyone’s situation is different. The cost of addiction rehab depends on the type and duration of treatment you need. Also, your financial standing is unique. A monthly payment plan that works for one person may not work for you. Our financial advisors will come up with a viable payment plan that will make the cost of rehab affordable for you. Your case manager will help you navigate the logistics of drug rehab so you have all the support and care you need to get better.

Will I lose my job if I enter into a treatment program?

Can I get fired for entering addiction treatment? Is rehab covered by short-term disability? Am I qualified for FMLA (family and medical leave act)?

These are some of the common questions people entering rehab have on their minds. According to the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act, substance abuse is categorized as a disability. This designation means that treatment for a substance use disorder is considered a serious health condition and is eligible for FMLA. FMLA is a labor law in which covered employers provide employees with job protection and unpaid leave for qualified family and medical reasons.

All employers do not offer FMLA. If your employer is covered, you will be able to get unpaid leave with job protection. If your employer is not covered, you may still qualify for accommodation under the ADA.

All this jargon can be overwhelming, especially when you are preparing to enter rehab and get clean. Don’t worry. Your case manager at Boca Recovery Center will take care of all the details, allowing you to focus on your recovery.

Our financial counselors will contact the HR Department at your employer’s offices in confidentiality. They will let your employers know that you are receiving necessary medical treatment. The appropriate paperwork will be filed to secure your job under FMLA. If applicable, financial advisors will work through short-term disability as well.

During rehab, you are not eligible for unemployment as you must be able to work. Once you have completed treatment, you can apply for unemployment. The COBRA health insurance program allows people to retain coverage in the event of unemployment. If you’re eligible, your financial advisor will help you with your COBRA application. If your employment was terminated before or after addiction treatment and you had health insurance coverage through your employer, your case manager will help you obtain COBRA on a month-to-month basis to continue health insurance coverage. Your financial counselor will handle your COBRA paperwork.

Legal issues during addiction treatment

The world doesn’t stop while you’re getting your life back on track through drug and alcohol rehab. In particular, legal issues can pop up while you’re in rehab. Your case manager will help you manage these issues with regular meetings. Throughout your time at Boca Recovery Center, we will help you work through any legal, emotional, or employment issues that crop up.

What about court dates, for example, DUI charges?

Your Case Manager will help you with communications regarding legal matters. This includes communication with law enforcement, the courts, and your attorney. For example, if you have a pending DUI charge and are keen to start addiction treatment, your Case Manager will contact the concerned parties. If entering alcohol rehab will cause you to miss a court date, your Case Manager will write to your attorney and the courts, telling them that you’re getting treatment. Your willingness to achieve and maintain recovery will be communicated to the judges, probation officers, and other legal professionals involved in your case. With your consent, your Case Manager can provide updates on your progress to your parole/probation officer. Keeping in mind your limited access to computers and phones, your Case Manager will work tirelessly to ensure that lines of communication are kept open for any legal proceedings to go in your favor.
